Perfectly said!! I believe that’s the truest definition of love: accepting someone just the way they are.
The hard part (at least for me) is learning how to do that with ourselves.

I agree that the hard part is learning how to be that kind to ourselves as we are to others. As I was reading your response, the thought that came to me was that we do, indeed, learn by example more than word, and perhaps those of us who struggle with being kind to ourselves do so because we have been “taught” to not be kind to ourselves. That’s a lot of food for thought!
